CALL FOR PREFORMED PANEL ABSTRACTS ACCOUNTABILITY NOW: ADVANCING MATERNAL, NEWBORN, CHILD & ADOLESCENT HEALTH Submission Deadline: December 15, 2015 Champions for Change (C4C), in collaboration with key partners from civil society, government and other key sectors, is organizing a national Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Summit, “Accountability Now: Advancing Maternal, Newborn, Child & Adolescent Health” from February 16-18, 2016 in Abuja, Nigeria. The Summit organizers invite submission of abstracts for preformed panels on cutting-edge topics and program results directed at identifying best practices, strengths, and gaps in accountability mechanisms and evidence-based advocacy in the RMNCAH sector in Nigeria and the region. In order to maximize the impact of the panels and to ensure a diversity of perspectives , we are asking that each preformed panel consist of 3 to 4 related, individual presentations. Each panel should be developed with the contribution of multiple individuals, organizations, and/or projects. Preformed panels will be assessed based on the strength of their overall theme and objectives, as well as the strength and interconnectedness of the individual presentations composing the panel. Thus, panel submissions should include objectives for the overall presentation as well as study or program objectives for each individual presentation. Additionally, preformed panel submission will be reviewed as a unit (i.e. accepted or not accepted as a whole). Therefore, panelists should ensure that each presentation is independently strong and that panel objectives, conclusions, and implications are clearly stated. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Summit Steering Committee, composed of independent experts in the field of RMNCAH. The Steering Committee accept panel abstracts under the following themes: 1. RMNCAH advocacy, and accountability Policy change and political investment; implementation, and impact RMNCAH Policy Effective advocacy and accountability approaches Performance, Monitoring and Accountability (PMA), and transparency 2. Women, girls, and youth Youth- and girl-friendly service delivery, innovations, and models Training and empowering youth leaders Contraceptive use by youth (acceptability, use, and continuation) Delayed marriage and delayed first pregnancy Pre-adolescence and Very Young Adolescents (ages 10-12) 3. Innovations in RMNCAH financing Global Financing Facility Health insurance models Performance-based financing Budget monitoring and costing Expanding private sector participation Total market approach and market dynamics 1 EVALUATION CRITERIA 1. 2. 3. 4. Originality: Contained significant new findings Quality: Significantly advanced evidence base for addressing RMNCAH Importance: The abstract directly addressed key themes for the conference Presentation: Clearly presented material according to outline (with headings) SUBMISSION OF PREFORMED PANEL Those interested should complete and submit the following application format, limiting the panel overview and panel description to a maximum of 400 words each . Note that participants with accepted presentations will be limitited to no more than two appearances on the Summit program. Unfortunately, Summit organizers are unable to cover the transportation and per diem costs associated with participation in the Summit or on preformed panels. Preformed panel submissions will be reviewed by the Steering Committee, and the panel organizer will be notified regarding abstract decisions by January 15, 2016.
