TITLE:
Read to Succeed Third Grade Summer Reading Camp Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid South Carolina teaching certificate
Meets Highly Qualified requirements as defined by the No Child
Left Behind legislation preferred
Extensive knowledge of ELA best practices for struggling students
Documented successful teaching experience, using high interest,
hands-on teaching techniques
A strong commitment for making a positive difference
in the lives of students and parents
Proficiency in the use of technology preferred
REPORTS TO:
Director of Elementary and Early Childhood Programs
JOB GOALS:
To provide intensive instruction in Reading and Writing through
the use of the Anderson School District Five Approved Curriculum
and summer enhancement materials; and accelerate learning for
students
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Plans and provides quality daily instruction based on the Anderson School District Five
Approved Curriculum and additional summer curriculum enhancements that meet the
individual needs, interests, abilities, and developmental levels of assigned students.
2.
Plans daily instruction that uses instructional strategies to accommodate individual
differences in maturity and rates, styles, and modalities of learning.
3.
Provides content for learners that is appropriate for the unit objectives, for students' ability
and developmental levels, and maintains a pace appropriate for all students.
4.
Provides content for learners using multiple sources and formats, explanations, examples,
and demonstrations and provides emphasis on key elements.
5.
Monitors and enhances learning using multiple strategies such as observation of student
performance, appropriate questioning techniques, informal assessment, appropriate
adjustment of instructional strategies, effective instructional feedback, and appropriate and
sufficient reviews and summaries of content and skills.
6.
Maintains and reinforces appropriate expectations for student responsibility and
completion of assignments.
7.
Maintains accurate and complete student records.
8.
Completes required documentation and reports.
9.
Maintains confidentiality of student records.
10.
Works cooperatively with the district.
11.
Participates in professional development training sessions, scheduled meetings, and
program activities.
12.
Performs other duties as directed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
EVALUATION:
25 days, $25 per hour based on 5 hour day
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions
of the Board’s policy.
