If the tree presents an immediate danger, this service should not be relied upon. However, the
safe removal of any tree/s and all associated costs remain the responsibility of the land owner.
YOU DO NOT REQUIRE A PERMIT IF;
 The tree presents an immediate risk of danger, personal injury or damage to property
 The tree is dead
 Is one of the following species; All willow species /Radiata or Monterey Pines/ Evergreen Alders/
Sweet Pittosporums/Desert Ash
Council recommends that you be properly informed prior to utilising this exemption, by seeking
the advice of a professional and retaining any evidence the tree satisfied the criteria.
A PLANNING PERMIT IS REQUIRED IF;
 The tree has a trunk circumference greater than 500mm (160mm diameter) at 1200mm above
ground level and
 Is higher than 10 metres, or
 Is higher than 7 metres located on 24 Samada St, Notting Hill. (Former Monash Primary School
site)
