List of Activities, Prizes and Scheduled Times for Kool Breeze Farms Scarecrow
Contest and Open Farm Day September 21st, 2014
1. Prizes for Organization, Business or Group Scarecrow Category Sponsored by the
Journal Pioneer, are: 1st place $1000 gift certificate, 2nd place $500 gift certificate and
3rd place $250 gift certificate. All gift certificates are from Journal Pioneer.
2. Prizes for Individual Entry Scarecrow Category are: 1st place $150, 2nd place $100 and
3rd place a $50 gift certificate.
3. Voting will start at 1PM. Ballots can be picked up by the Scarecrow Entry’s and must
be returned to the ballot box for tallying by 4PM so we can announce the winners.
Write the number found on the Front of each scarecrow on your ballot.
4. Live Scarecrow Contest Children (and the Young at Heart) sponsored by Green
Diamond Equipment. Come dressed as a Live Scarecrow to win one of three prizes
including: a Pedal Bike, Tractor or Combine. Judging to take place at 2:15 PM next to
the Entertainment Wagon.
5. Summerside Lions Club Racing events: 1:15PM - Three-Legged Race, 1:45PM Potato
Sack Races, 2:15PM – Live Scarecrow Judging (by Entertainment Wagon), 3:00PM –
Egg Race, 3:45 PM – Big Bale Race.
6. Entertainment by Alan Sonier will start at 1:30 PM and continue throughout the
afternoon.
7. Face Tattooing begins at 1:30 PM and will continue throughout the afternoon. Thank
you to Three Oaks Senior High Remembrance Group .
8. Pumpkin decorating starts at 1PM and will continue throughout the afternoon. First
pumpkin is free; children must be present to receive pumpkin. Thank you to Island
Petroleum for sponsoring this event.
9. Farm Equipment display compliments of Green Diamond Equipment.
10. The Straw maze is open all day.
11. Chris Gilfoy (that pumpkin guy) will have a demonstration table setup showing his
amazing pumpkin carvings throughout the afternoon.
12. The Straw Mountain is open all day.
13. Wagon Rides will be starting at 1:30 PM and go throughout the afternoon
14. Food is available from the Summerside Lions Club. All proceeds go to local programs.
15. Egg Information Area is located in the field. Be sure to pickup some of the free Egg
Recipes at the display.

18. Please take as many pictures as you want and we hope you enjoy your day.
19. Please use the waste receptacles for any garbage, recyclables or compost. Port a Potty is
located in Field.
