Perseus vs Clash of the Titans
While watching Clash of the Titans, make notes about the aspects of the Perseus
myth that remain true to the orignal myth and the changes the producers make.
Write a compare-contrast essay based on the similarities and differences you
discover.
Outline Format
Bold Print must be in complete sentences! *You must fill in the ideas!
I. Thesis sentence- one sentence that gives the main idea/purpose of your whole essay.
This will drive the entire essay.
Must let the reader know that you will be comparing the
modern movie Clash of the Titans with the orignal Greek
Perseus myth.

Attention getter/motivator-This will get the audiences’ attention and can
be one of the following: fact, statistic, anecdote, quote, shocking
statement. Do not use a simple question that you don’t answer later in your
essay.

Background information-This is any information the audience needs to
know about you or your topic before they will completely understand the
essay.
Give a brief summary of the Perseus myth and the movie.
II. Topic Sentence- one sentence that gives the main idea of the paragraph or what the
paragraph is about. This sentence must be proving or giving more
information about your thesis.
This paragraph will discuss the similarities (what is the same)
between the myth and movie.
