Ensure the amenity and cleanliness of the Municipal District is maintained and improved. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Assist with Council’s waste and litter collection vehicle maintenance and associated equipment: Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance on waste collection vehicles on a daily basis in accordance with approved pre-start check list and maintenance programs. Ensure that the vehicle is cleaned and disinfected at the completion of each shift, including inspecting the vehicle and reporting any maintenance/repairs requirements to the Supervisor. Monitor the level of supplies including the first aid kit and where necessary arrange further supplies from the Team Leader Waste & Cleansing. 2. Assist with the collection and disposal of domestic waste and litter: Assist with Council’s shop and reserve litter and domestic waste programs in accordance with Council’s safety policies and procedures. Assist in updating Council’s Litter Bin Clearance Schedule as required. Advise the Team Leader Waste & Cleansing of imminent issues including details of non-collection of bins, instances of littering, rubbish dumping and dead animals and vandalism or maintenance requirements. To assist in installing litter bins, litter surrounds, lockable stands and associated works in accordance with the litter bin upgrade program. Conduct the litter bin cleansing, disinfecting and deodorising programs in accordance with the agreed timelines.
