RESPONSIBLE FOR:
All aspects of the Radiodiagnostic & Medical
Imaging Department
ACCOUNTABLE TO:
Medical Director
JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the general management of the Radiodiagnostic & Medical Imaging
Department, for the organization of all Radiology staff, for the management of
Radiographic patient services and facilities, for equipment and for consumable.
Responsible for maintaining and implementing the departmental Policy and
Procedures together with assigned clinical duties.
2.0
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
2.1
Has a 24- hour responsibility for the Radiodiagnostic & Medical Imaging
Department.
2.2
Will organize and develop all aspects of Radiodiagnostic & Medical Imagting
services.
2.3
Schedules and supervises all X-ray staff.
2.4
Will organize and develop in-service training systems.
2.5
Is responsible for radiographic quality assurance and has a role as radiationsafety manager.
2.6
Prepares departmental statistics and various reports as required.
2.7
Coordinates departmental activities with those of other departments.
2.8
Participates in all appropriate and necessary meetings and committees.
2.9
Performs other appropriate tasks and duties that are assigned within the realm
of their knowledge, skills and abilities.
2.10
The applicant should be willing to cross-train in other Specialist areas of
radiographic imaging if necessary.

HOURS OF WORK:
The post-holder will work 48 hours per week. This is usually 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays to Wednesdays (Inc.) and 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Thursdays. They are
also committed to on-call duties, when required, not within the normal working hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

4.2
Qualifications or Relevant Experience:
4.1.1
National Diploma in Radiography or the equivalent.
4.1.2
Must have a current state registration.
4.1.3
A recognized post-graduate qualification professional diploma is
desirable but not essential.
4.1.4
Knowledge and experience in General Radiography is essential.
4.1.5
Knowledge and experience in other Specialist procedure is essential
e.g. Ultrasound, CT Scanning, Angiography or MRI.
4.1.6
A good working standard of spoken and written English is essential.
Personal Qualities:
4.2.1
The applicant must be able to demonstrate managerial and teamleadership qualities.
4.2.2
The applicant must be able to demonstrate problem, solving abilities.
4.2.3
The applicant will be calm, caring person, sensitive to the cultural
differences in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other members of
staff.
4.2.4
The applicant must be able to liaise with clinicians on a professional
level and have a good interpersonal skill.

The applicant will set and maintain professional standards and
attitudes.

The candidate will respect policies set at the levels of the Directorate,
the Hospital and the Company.
Experience:
4.3.1
15 years post-qualification experience is desirable.
4.3.2
Candidates will normally have held a management position for at least
5 years.
4.3.3
Candidates will have a wide practical experience in Radiological
Medical Imaging.
4.3.4
Candidates will have at least one Radiological Medical Specialty.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
As laid down by the Hospital Programme and subject for amendment. Remuneration
will be commensurate with the category indicated above.
