JOB SUMMARY : Assists radiologists and radiographers in order to ensure safe and effective care for patients undergoing radiological procedures in MRI, CT Scan, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and Angiography. This job description should be read in conjunction with NUR/PRAC/J004 – Registered Nurse Job Description 2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 2.1. Works in collaboration with radiologists, technicians, and nurses in other departments, to provide the highest quality care during a radiological procedure 2.2. Assists the radiologist and or other physicians during performing specialized radiological procedures by catheter insertion, monitoring of vital signs etc. as required. 2.3. Performs routine nursing duties according to approved Policies, Procedures and Guidelines. 2.4. Ensures the safety of patients according to the Departmental Guidelines on Health and Safety 2.5.Uses equipment and supplies in a cost-effective and responsible manner and responsible for ordering supplies (stock and non-stock items) in the department. 2.6. Participates in the care, custody and administration of medications in accordance to hospital policy. 2.7. Ensures that Infection Control practices are adhered to in accordance with approved Infection Control Policies. 2.8. Participates in orientation, in-service education programs and any Quality Management Programs of the department or hospital. 2.11. Participates in any emergency cases like Code Blue happening in the department. 3.0. HOURS OF WORK: The post-holder will work 48 hours per week. This is usually 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Saturdays to Wednesdays and 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Thursdays. They are also committed to on-call duties, when required, not within the normal working hours. 4.0. REQUIREMENTS: 4.1. Qualifications or Relevant Experience: 4.1.1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or three (3) years Diploma Program 4.1.2. Valid License to practice professional nursing from country of origin 4.1.3. Must have Saudi Council Registration 4.1.4. BCLS Certified 4.2 . Personal Qualities: 4.2.1. Must be able to work as part of a team both in the Radiology Department and in the Hospital. 4.2.2. Good interpersonal skills 4.2.3. Possesses a professional, friendly and warm demeanor with effective collaborative communication skills 4.3.4. Demonstrates high standards of clinical knowledge and practices in Nursing and Radiology 4.2.5.
