GABBY’S PERSONAL PROFILE
The first time we saw the mare, “She Loves To Talk, she was running in a pasture with other
mares. The ease of her floating stride made it obvious that we were observing a true equine
athlete in motion.
Recently I have noticed that although she is heavy in foal, she still moves smoothly and easily
at a trot. From my experience of putting many miles on horseback in the past, I value the way
she moves and travels which gives me a good indication that she would be an enjoyable,
smooth ride.
It is our hope that she will pass this on, along with her speed and good temperament to her
foals.
Although bred for speed, she has a good mind and workable attitude. We’ve not experienced
any problems handling her. She does not appear to have any vices and willingly walks out
briskly when handling her and stands tied without issue. The only exception to her willing
attitude was when she showed some hesitation to load while being heavy in foal.
She is a quiet mare that is pleasant to be around. She is not a pet by any means and doesn’t
appear to be needy for affection, in anyway. Yet when you talk to her she seems to grow even
quieter, almost like she is listening or responding to the sound of ones voice.
It appears she has gained the benefit of the good mind and manners of the First Down Dash’s
which are known to be level headed, intelligent, and easy to train.
GABBY is good around other horses, not appearing to be a kicker or a biter. She even tends to
lack an aggressive nature to fight for her own feed. When she eats she’s not a gobbler and
even in her feeding habits shows forth, with class.
Although our focus is to breed for speed, we are considering breeding her to an exceptional
performance horse stallion with the hopes of producing an outstanding hybrid cross that could
excel in the arena and or in speed events. It would be our hope to produce a quarter horse
with good conformation, eye appeal, a level headed intelligence, athletic ability, speed, and
trainability, with an excellent disposition.
