JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Peer Tutor
DEPARTMENT:
Tutoring Services
Position Responsibilities:







Tutors students in a specific discipline, i.e. math, science, religion, etc.
Adapts tutoring methods to the clients’ learning styles
Develops tutoring schedule with client(s)
Completes required training modules
Maintains accurate records of services provided
Works cooperatively with the client, faculty, and Tutoring Coordinator
Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
 Expertise in a specific discipline and/or ability
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent listing skills
 Computer skills for accessing internet resources
 Passionate about helping others learn
 Appreciation for the different learning styles of students
 Willingness to utilize various tutoring methods
 Professional, responsible, resourceful
 Ability to commit to at least two hours per week
