The Reasons Why International Students Choose CWU

Have you ever dreamed of studying abroad? Or, are you preparing to
study abroad in the U.S.? Then, you have to read this article, because it could be
the key to your success in studying abroad. A recent survey of English as a
Second Language School (ESL) students in the U.S. showed that satisfaction of
Central Washington University (CWU) in Ellensburg is the highest. Most of the
ESL students in this school are satisfied with their selection. Jin, an International
student who is attending this school, said “CWU is good place to study English,
because it has a lot of competent teachers, provides good facilities, and has
many activities.” Actually, many international students in this school picked out
these same reasons.
First, there are many competent teachers in CWU. They are well-trained and
have studied for a long time in the university or institution, so their teaching style
is great for international students. They attempt various methods of education in
class: some quizzes and games, watching movies and free talking. The teachers
spend most of class time for lectures, but if the content is too difficult for
students, they try other means like games and watching movies. Therefore
students can study pleasantly without feeling too bored or that the material is too
difficult.
Second, CWU provides good facilities. In the school, there is a library with
many books, classrooms that include recent equipment, and restaurants with
many kinds of food. Especially, the kinds of books in a library are quite various.
For example, students can use library books to research academic topics and
even find entertaining books for free time reading.
Also, the library has
equipment like computers, printers, and projectors, which are very useful for
preparing assignments. The library and most classrooms are equipped with
these, so all students can use them for free. Moreover the food in the restaurants
is highly nutritious and good for students’ health. Also, in CWU, there are a lot of
students from other countries, so the menus of the restaurants are quite varied.
For example, they have Italian food, Asian food, Mexican food, and traditional
American fast food. Therefore, students who don’t like American food can try to
have another sort of food so they don’t have to cook for themselves. In
conclusion, students can use most of facilities that they need, although we don’t
go out of the school. In other words, they can concentrate only on studying in this
school.
Third, there are many activities. The ESL program in this school offers various
opportunities for international students. So students can gain many kinds of
experiences like meeting with a conversation partner, taking trips, and cultural
experiences. These activities give lots of opportunities for international students
to speak with American people. So students can make full use of their learning at
out of the class. By doing these things, students can get the courage to speak
themselves.
In summary, CWU has the most suitable environment for international
students who want to study English in the U.S., because this school provides
good teachers, facilities and programs. When we consider the expensive tuition
and living expenses incurred by studying abroad, CWU will give you the most
valuable experiences.
