Bishop’s Office
Ordination to the Priesthood. With joy and thanksgiving, all are invited to Jerome Lavigne's ordination to
the ministerial priesthood of Jesus Christ on Friday, June 19th 2009. The ordination begins at 7:00 p.m. at
St. Mary's Cathedral, Calgary. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
St. Paul’s Church, Airdrie
Bishop Henry has designated St. Paul's Catholic Church in Airdrie as an official pilgrimage site during the
year of St. Paul. On June 21st at St. Paul’s, Bishop Henry will be celebrating Mass at 2:00 p.m. with
priests from the diocese. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available from 1:00 p.m. A luncheon is to
follow the Mass for a minimal cost - there is no need to register. Everyone is welcome. For more information

Health Care Apostolate
The Foothills Hospital Pastoral / Spiritual Care Department would be very grateful to have a piano for the

Calgary Catholic School District Summer Camps and Diploma Exam Preparation
The Calgary Catholic School District offers a variety of Summer Camp programmes for elementary/junior
high students, with both full-day and half-day options available. The District also offers affordable diploma
exam prep courses to prepare students for upcoming diploma exams. For more information and to register,

A limited number of copies of our history book, Winds of Change: a History of the Roman Catholic
Diocese of Calgary since 1968 are available at $20.00 each. It was written under the direction of Dr. Norman
Knowles, Professor of History at St. Mary’s University College, Calgary with contributions from members of
our community including Professor Michael Duggan, Monsignor Joseph LeFort, Geraldine Perry, John
McCarthy, Yolande Gagnon, Ella Ell, and Joan Dingle. This book tells the story of our recent past as well as

***Stress in Your Marriage? – Retrouvaille is a programme for married couples that feel bored,
disillusioned, frustrated, or angry in their marriage. Some experience coldness. Others experience conflict in
their relationship. Most don’t know how to change the situation or even communicate with their spouse about
it. This programme has helped tens of thousands of couples experiencing difficulties in their marriage. Next

The ACA will be holding its last monthly meeting before the summer break on June 7 at 6:30 p.m. The
speaker is our Spiritual Leader, Fr. Sajo Puthussery, who will be speaking on the importance of community in
our daily lives. The ACA summer hiking schedule will also be available at the meeting.

***Register Early: Effective Co-Parenting: Putting Kids First is a parent education programme that will
give information about the needs of parents, children & families coping with separation and divorce. This
programme will be held on six Thursday evenings from October 20, 27, – November 3, 10, 17, 24, 2009 at

***Rachel's Vineyard Retreat (RV) is for women and men suffering from a past abortion experience. The

This year marks the 10th Annual Bishop’s Dinner, a Southern Alberta Celebration and Charity Benefit
that has become an annual tradition in our Diocese. Look for more information about this event in

Posters and ticket order forms will be in parishes and mailed to previous attendees respectively by the end of
