Halloween Writing Assignment
Due – October 29
For the next three weeks you will research and write a biography of a famous dead person. Then you will use the
information from the biography to write an obituary. You will present the obituary (2-3 minutes) on Friday
October 29, dressed as this person. This could be your costume for the ‘party’ instead of a traditional Halloween
costume.
You must have:
 At least three references, including one book
 Important information about the person – birthday, date of death, family, where he or she lived
 Accomplishments
 Cause of death
Please be creative and try your best. This is your project, so have fun!
