SINGLETON SCHOOL’S SPECTACULAR ROBIN HOOD Last term Singleton School did a great performance of Robin Hood, featuring Robin and his men, Lords and Ladies and, of course, the villagers of Nottingham and the mean Sheriff. The whole school joined in; we had lots of parents come to watch every evening. They all laughed and joined in, even the actors enjoyed themselves. It was a great success, we did three evenings acting, and people said it was a lot to learn after the final performance. Everyone enjoyed it, the children too. The story started with the villagers moaning about their taxes, which were getting higher and higher. So Robin Hood came to the rescue! If you saw it you will know how good it was! Although the play wasn’t the best in the world, there were great amounts of effort put in and weeks and weeks of practice. It took everybody to put their mind to it. The whole play went really well and we all had fun. At the end of the show, Mrs Reeves and everyone who helped got a great well done and everyone was proud of themselves. We also had a big finale – everyone came on to the stage and gave a bow and we sang our last song. We all came on with a partner and the teachers called out our names and one by one we all stood up and bowed. After the three evenings, some people came and said how much they enjoyed it and the teachers were very proud of us. The next day all the children came into school looking exhausted! We all enjoyed it, and are looking forward to doing our next play. By Charlotte, Jasmine and Poppy.
