The Pact Theme Essay
The Pact is a book about three guys named Sam, George, and Rameck who made
it through medical school after being raised in the projects. Their childhood was all about
being surrounded by gun shootings, fights, drug dealers, and burglaries. They grew up in
an unhealthy environment, and were all hanging around bad influences. All three of them
joined created and agreed to join a pact in the 11th grade and stuck with it all through
medical school. The bond was held together by their trust, competitiveness, and support
for one another. Fulfilling your goals and dreams takes lots of hope, pure determination,
and a positive attitude.
In order for the three guys to meet their goal of becoming doctors, they had to
only hope for the best and do whatever it took to reach the expectations and requirements
needed to reach their goals. If they did not have hope in all the things they did, they
would not have got anywhere. Hope is that extra motivational push to do what your heart
desires, and get to live your dreams and make them happen and come alive. Hope is
believing in the best in any situation, even if it tough and feel like giving up at times.
Having hope can get you through anything, and allow you to do anything you want to do,
no matter what it is, if you hope can and push yourself to achieve it, then you can do it
Another good thing you have in life is determination, you should be able to push
yourself for something, work for it, and achieve it. In The Pact George, San, and Rameck

had enough dedication for a life time and because of that, they all made it through 8 years
of college and all graduated together. All three of the guys where committed to the pact
and one guys dedication pushed the others to do better. Dedication is not giving up on
your goals and dreams but keep striving to reach them, despite the challenges that come
with it. No matter how difficult the task might be, if you are determined to get through it,
you will.
Most importantly in order to be successful in life and have goals and dreams you
must have a positive attitude. If you think positive your turn outs will be positive, you
always have to look on the bright side in any situation. Being positive keeps you always
looking forward, encouraging yourself to do better and reach for more. If you are
dedicated to anything you will eventually succeed and be happy with the outcome.
Determination is setting your mind to something and not giving up until you reach your
goal, and will do anything to get it.
In The Pact three guys Sam, George, and Rameck all grew up in the projects with
little money and struggling to get by each day. All three guys were surrounded by bad
influences who were trying to get them into doing bad things that will lead to trouble and
life long consequences. The three guys came together and rose above the drugs,
burglaries, and fights. It was such a great achievement for them to graduate from medical
school, considering their background and their financial difficulties. They had goals and
dreams just like everybody does and in order to reach them it took lots of hope,
unbreakable determination, and always having a positive attitude.
