Reading Proficiency Test Requirement For Driver’s License State law requires a satisfactory score on the 8th Grade Reading Criterion-Referenced Test (or another approved test) to get a driver’s license. This requirement ends on a person’s 18th birthday. Lawton Public School students not scoring satisfactorily on th the 8 Grade Reading Criterion-Referenced Test and who want to apply for a driver’s license may take an alternative reading test on the following Saturdays during the 2012-2013 school year. All tests will be given at the Central Middle School Cafeteria No Charge to LPS Students (Sept. Test Only.) All students need to bring either a (1) picture identification or (2) official birth certificate and a parent with a picture ID. Students arriving late will not be admitted.
