Reading Proficiency Test Requirement
For Driver’s License
State law requires a satisfactory score on the 8th Grade
Reading Criterion-Referenced Test (or another approved test) to
get a driver’s license. This requirement ends on a person’s 18th
birthday.
Lawton Public School students not scoring satisfactorily on
th
the 8 Grade Reading Criterion-Referenced Test and who want to
apply for a driver’s license may take an alternative reading test on
the following Saturdays during the 2012-2013 school year.
All tests will be given at the
Central Middle School Cafeteria
No Charge to LPS Students (Sept. Test Only.)

Enrollment in LPS will be verified at the testing site.
All students need to bring either a (1) picture identification or
(2) official birth certificate and a parent with a picture ID.
Students arriving late will not be admitted.
