REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
The regular meeting of the Hysham School Board will be tonight, Monday, Apr. 8th
at 7:30 p.m. in the HS Library. Board agenda is posted on the website listed above.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
PROM – “MUSIC OF THE CENTURY” – SATURDAY, APR. 13TH
Hysham High School Junior class will host the Prom on Saturday, April 13th with the
Grand March at starting 8 p.m. which is open to the public. The dance will be from
8:30 p.m. to midnight. If students choose to leave before midnight, their parents
will be contacted and spoken to before they are allowed to leave the Prom. Cost is
$15 per couple or $8 for a single. Ms. Skillen is taking photo’s starting at 7 p.m.
and a Prom Dinner will be served at the community center by parents starting at
6 p.m. for $10 a couple or $5 for a single. (Menu: Ham/Turkey, twice-baked
potatoes, salad, fruit salad, dinner rolls, desserts). Out of town permission slips
for dates are available at the office. Students in Grades 9-12 are allowed to
attend the Prom. Please contact the school if you have any questions about the
prom. Thank you!
LEGISLATIVE TRIP
There will be a Legislative Trip going to Helena with juniors and seniors on Sunday,
Apr. 7 leaving at 11 a.m. through Tuesday, Apr. 9th with Mr. Buchmann, History
instructor. The kids earned money through fundraisers over the past 2 years and
are looking forward to this trip! Thanks to the community members who continue to
support our kids and programs at Hysham Schools!
HYSHAM SCHOOL BOARD - BOARD OF TRUSTEES
VACANT BOARD TRUSTEE POSITION
There is one trustee position open due to a resignation. The Board will appoint a qualified
individual to finish the term of this position. The term expires in May 2014. Individuals can
submit a “Letter of Interest” to be considered for appointment. Please submit the letter by April 8,

HYSHAM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PROJECT
The sidewalk in front of the old grocery store and café has become a hazard and the
chamber is trying to get it replaced before the end of May. Please send contributions to:

ATHLETIC BANQUET – HYSHAM BOOSTER CLUB
The Hysham Booster Club will host the Athletic Banquet on Sunday, April 21st starting at
5 p.m. in the school multi-purpose room. Hysham High School football, volleyball,
basketball and track will be honored. The community is invited to join in on this potluck.
For planning purposes the Booster club requests that Senior Class members bring
salads, Junior Class members bring salads, Sophomore Class members bring hot
dishes, Freshman Class members bring desserts and Jr. High Class members bring
desserts. Booster Club will provide meat, potatoes, bread and drinks. Our school will
provide meal utensils and paper supplies. Enjoy dinner and awards as the Pirates 20122013 sports achievements are recognized at this Athletic Banquet. Guest speaker will
be Matt Hollowell, defensive football coordinator at Rocky Mountain College in Billings.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that the Annual School Election of the Hysham
School Dist. No. 1, Treasure County, State of Montana, will be held on Tuesday,
May 7, 2013 at the Hysham High School lobby.
Electors will consider the following issue at the election:
Two Trustees to be elected for three year terms.
Possible mill levy election for the General Fund.
Filing deadline for Trustee Positions for Nomination is March 28, 2013 (4:00 p.m.)
at the Hysham School, District Clerk’s Office.
If it is later determined that any portion of the election is not required, the
Board of Trustees authorizes the election administrator to cancel that portion of
the election in accordance with 13-1-304 and 30-3-313, MCA.
The polls will be open between the hours of 12:00 noon and 8:00 p.m. A
qualified registered elector who will be unable to go to the polls on the day of
election may request an “Application for Absentee Voter’s Ballot” from the school
district clerk’s office located at: Hysham Schools, 115 Summit Street, Hysham,
MT 59038-0272 (342-5237).
