A Yummy Wine Bar & Bistro / 831 Broadway / 738-3100 ‘fragment,’ is a vibrant collection of new paintings by Austin, Texas
artist Liz Layman. Layman’s creations are an attention-grabbing amalgam of painting and collage, bringing together two worlds
into her unique and vivid pieces. “The collage objects in my work tend to be of nostalgic of times and people in my life” says the
artist. “I realize these images are going to have a completely different meaning to anyone else.”
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Layman has traveled to over twenty countries and has found herself living in Eugene, New
York City, and currently in Austin. The diverse subjects of her paintings are clearly
