SAIT Polytechnic MacPhail School of Energy Subject Matter Experts/Curriculum Developers: Energy Asset Management Contract Opportunities SAIT Polytechnic’s MacPhail School of Energy is currently developing an Energy Asset Management (EAM) diploma program for blended and online delivery. Energy Asset Management, which includes Operations Accounting, Production Accounting, Land, Joint Ventures, and Well Asset Management will emphasize the management and administration of regulatory, financial, and contractual compliance in relation to energy assets. We are looking for experienced energy asset management professionals to contribute to the curriculum development of this program. Through a collaborative process with education and multimedia specialists, subject matter experts (SMEs) will provide their knowledge of current industry standards, needs and trends to develop each course. The SMEs will collaborate with instructional designers, multimedia experts, technical writers and other subject matter experts to ensure that each course includes the technical and business processes as well as compliance issues relevant to each of the EAM disciplines of joint venture, surface land, mineral land, well asset management, and production and operations accounting. Subject matter experts are required for the following courses for the EAM program Business Law (contracts, liability, property, business organizations and oil and gas transactions) Data & Records Management Fundamentals (records management requirements in relation to energy and EAM) Financial Decision Making (practical application of mathematical techniques for solving business problems and interpreting financial statements) Energy Industry Introduction (overview of the oil and gas industry through the development, production, marketing and well abandonment cycles) Overview of Energy Asset Management (overview of interdisciplinary collaboration among non-technical disciplines and their interdependencies with technical disciplines) Energy Asset Management Pre-acquisition & Acquisition (overview of required preparation involved in acquiring land and assets and how the EAM disciplines are involved in the process) Energy Asset Management Drilling & Completion (introduction to the active phase of well development focusing on the interdisciplinary coordination of tracking, analyzing, and well monitoring activities, the land and mineral operating procedures, partnerships, as well as accounting processes) NOTE: These are contract opportunities, each with an approximate duration of six (6) to nine (9) months depending on subject area. These contracts may be executed on a part-time or full-time basis. RESPONSIBILITIES Work collaboratively as part of a team including industry and educational experts to ensure that curriculum is accurate, complete and to the required quality. Create or update course content, learning activities and assessments to meet learning outcomes for the specified course outline(s). Provide resources that adhere to copyright requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Relevant post-secondary education or certification and a minimum of five years work experience related to one or more of the listed subject matter areas. Sufficient practical understanding of the subject matter area(s) to create content based on experience, research and reference material. Excellent communication skills; the ability to organize and present written information. Able to work independently but take direction when necessary. Strong commitment to producing quality curriculum within set deadlines. An understanding of adult learning, training and education would be considered an asset.
