Job Opening Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology San 14-1, Nongseo-ri, Giheung-eup, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea http://www.sait.samsung.co.kr Job Description Computational Biology The qualified candidate will perform computational gene annotation. The group will also perform in-silico genetic sequence analysis (genome assembly, sequence alignment, gene structure finding, etc.), public biological data mining and knowledge management. He/she will participate in population-based genetic discovery of biomarkers of human disease. Statistics Will perform data analysis and consulting for internal microarray development team for the design of experiments, data-mining to resolve manufacturing problem identification, clinical and genetic data analysis in connection to population genetic data. Will devise smart algorithms and statistical methods to utilize genotype data for healthcare applications and design the experiments to discover human disease biomarkers. Medical Informatics Will develop/upgrade clinical databases in cooperation with clinicians and perform analysis on the internally generated genotype data as well as clinical data to discover new clinical treatment, and better healthcare and wellness care. Software Development Will develop/upgrade software infrastructure for public and internally generated genomic biology and genotype data for human SNP. Will coordinate the development of Internet-based commercial software for our genotyping biochip products. Minimum Requirements Ph.D. or equivalent experience in bioinformatics or related field such as biological science, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, medical/clinical informatics, etc. Extensive experience in bioinformatics, computational molecular biology, expertise in public genome database and tools, and programming skills are favored.
