Fresh Leaders New incoming freshmen feel like they should blend in and try to stay out of everyone’s way, but the Leadership I class is trying to change that. Leadership’s class is about making goals and being your self. In their class, Mr. Turner teaches the students to break out of their shell and get involved with their school. The leadership class is all about participation, which is how the students get their grade. Leadership I has a lot of plans for freshmen this year. “We want to get more freshmen involved with activities at our school.” Marlayna Martinez, freshmen class president, said. The Leadership I class has already made many posters to encourage freshmen to get involved with school activities such as the lip sync contest. The lip sync contest was made for each grade to choreograph a number to lip sync and earn points for their grade. The more people the group had the more points that grade gets. Each leadership class plans different activities to help their grade earn points which are added up at the end of the school year. Leadership works on other school activities such as homecoming. The theme this year was superheroes which included dress up days to go along with the theme. The days were the Hulk, Villains vs. Heroes, Captain America, “who is your hero?”, and school spirit day. The theme for the homecoming dance was Gotham City. Leadership I has plans to make this year great, but they need help from the freshmen. The more freshmen who help and participate in school activities the more points freshmen will get. Jordyn Casey
