beginning with a capital letter.
The students will be reminded that if they do what is
expected of them they will get a treat at the end of the
lesson.
“Today we will be reading a book about trains and we will
be writing a sentence and drawing a picture about our
favorite part of the story when we are finished reading.
Read the book about trains to the students. The students
will then write a sentence and draw a picture about the
story using correct capitalization and punctuation. Walk
around among the students to check for understanding.
Question them about their work.
The students will be writing sentences about their favorite
part of the book that we read. They will receive a treat if
they behaved during the prior part of the lesson.
“Today we learned how to write a sentence about our
favorite part of the book on trains. “ Have the students
share their sentence with their classmates. Have the
students clean up, line up, and walk them back to class.
The students will meet the performance criteria if they write
a complete sentence about the book using correct
punctuation and capitalization.
