Introduction
Trash-Design Manufaktur (TDM) manufactures elegant and high-quality furniture and accessories.
Specialists of technic and aesthetics are employed. The idea of social economy is implemented.
Furthermore for this designer products components of used or broken electric appliances are used.
On demand individual products can be realised.

Regional framework
TDM is a department of the Demontage- und Recycling Zentrum (DZR). As the dismanteling of
used or broken electric appliances is a main field of DRZ. As used electric compenents are easily
available, the idea of manufacturing products with them was born.

Target groups involved
Former long-term uneployed people or people who are on seupplementary benefit are saleried. This
people receive continuos work and intensive pedagogical support. Aims are reintegration,
qualification and procurement.

Capacities
In the year 2003 318 t of used electric appliances have been dealed at DRZ. In case that during the
dismanteling of the appliances parts in good contidion are recognised by the employers, the
components are seperated and given to TDM. On the other hand, TDM employers order specific
compenents to realise their design ideas. At Tdm six people are employed at the moment.

Market
The ideas is to manufacture high-quality products. The commodities can be bought at TDM. Some
selected goods can also be bought online in cooperation with an organisation in the field of
environmental protection.
