To be announced May 5, 12, 19, 26 & June 2, 9 (2pm-5pm) 1 Classroom Course code Dates & Time Credit Course Introduction This course covers basic electron optics and operation principle of electron microscopes; various types of instruments, including TEM, SEM, STEM will be discussed. Specimen-beam interaction and contrast formation mechanism, including transmission imaging, back scatter electron, secondary electron, EELS and EDS will be discussed. The course ends with lecture on techniques for biological specimen preparation.
