Expense claims for attending Section 63 courses
Attached are the following documents :1. Guidance notes for claiming travel expenses for attending day release / half
day release meetings and courses which have been approved under Section 63
Section 63 travel expense claim forms (yellow) may be requested by emailing
emily.watt@nes.scot.nhs.uk
Supplies of travel expense claim forms have also been sent to the course
organisers of the day release / half day release meetings for each district and
will be available at registration for courses which have been organised by the
West deanery such as the Child Health Surveillance and Minor Surgery
courses.
2. Application form for Section 63 funding to attend courses which have not
been organised by the West deanery.
During the general practice component of your training ie GPST1 post in a
general practice and GPST3 post in a general practice, you do not have a
personal study leave budget. If you wish to attend any courses other than
those which have been organised by the West deanery and are requesting
funding to attend you must apply for Section 63 funding to Dr Moya Kelly.
(Application form and guidance notes attached).
The funding application form should be completed and returned with a copy of
the course programme and details of costs, educational need identified etc to
Dr Moya Kelly in advance of the course.
The Section 63 budget is limited and no guarantee can be given that Section
63 funding for attendance at the course will be approved. If approved you will
then be sent a yellow expenses claim form which you should complete and
return with your receipts.
Please note that you are not required to apply for funding to attend Section 63
courses which are organised by the West deanery eg Child Health Surveillance
course and Minor Surgery course.
For courses which are approved under Section 63 and which have been
organised by the West deanery there will be no course fee for you to pay and
you will be entitled to claim travel expenses for attending the course. All day
release / half day release meetings held in your district are approved under
Section 63.
