APPLICATION FOR 2013 EWHA INTERNATIONAL SUMMER COLLEGE (Session I)
***Guidance Notes***
Please read the following information carefully before filling in the application form.
Background
Ewha Womans University, one of our exchange partner institutions in Korea, has organized a
summer programme named 2013 Ewha International Summer College (Session I) and would like
to invite you to join. The programme lasts for 4 weeks, in the period from 25 June to 24 July
2013. It provides you with an excellent platform to explore Korean culture, learn Korean and
interact with students from different cultural backgrounds through classroom learning, outdoor
workshops and field trips.
On-campus Accommodation & Special Programme Fee
During the programme, you will be living in the on-campus student hostel, either single or double
room. It would be the best way for you to practice Korean and to experience different cultures. As
our exchange partner, Ewha Womans University offers our students a special programme fee. For
details, please refer to the programme details on page 3.
Air Ticket Sponsorship
Lingnan University will sponsor the net airfare of the most economic and reasonable flights
between Ewha Womans University and Hong Kong. Other expenditure including tax, security,
fuel, other miscellaneous surcharges of your air tickets and your personal trips will be borne by
the participants.
Insurance
To ensure your safety, you are required to purchase suitable and adequate insurance covering
travel, personal accident, medical expenses (accident and non-accident), hospitalisation and
emergency evacuation / repatriation before your departure to Korea, during and after the entire
period of the program.

APPLICATION FOR 2013 EWHA INTERNATIONAL SUMMER COLLEGE (Session I)
Eligibility
Students who wish to participate in 2013 Ewha International Summer College (Session I) are
required to meet the following requirements:

A current full time undergraduate student in Year 1 or 2 on a 3-year programme /
Year 2 or 3 on a 4-year programme

No previous exchange experience through student exchange programme of OMIP

Not to be considered for other student exchange programmes in the future

Cumulative GPA as of Term 1, 2012-13: at least 2.5

Good English
Application Method & Deadline
Please read carefully the instruction on the following pages. The duly completed application form
should be submitted to OMIP by 5:30 p.m., 14 February 2013 (Thursday).
A selection interview will be arranged in late February 2013. Please also note that OMIP reserves
the final right in the selection of students for the 2013 Ewha Summer International College.
Courses and Credit Transfer
Students are required to take 2 courses from the list of courses are available at:
http://summer.ewha.ac.kr/ (Select “Programs”  “Session I”  “List of Courses & Faculty”
Students who have passed the courses at 2013 Ewha International Summer College can transfer
credits back to the University with prior approval from relevant departments / programmes /
programme directors. Grades obtained will not be counted in GPA calculation, but the actual
grades obtained will be shown in the transcript.
Study Load
Credits taken are counted in the maximum study load for the academic year of 2012-13 or in the
next academic year (i.e. 2013-14) as appropriate.

Air Ticket Sponsorship
Application Deadline
 Lingnan University will provide air ticket sponsorship to successful
participants. Please note that only the net airfare of the most
economic and reasonable flight between Hong Kong and Ewha
Womans University will be sponsored. Participants are required to
purchase air ticket at the designated travel agent advised by OMIP.
