Stephen M. Cardamone, DO, MS Chief Clinical Integration Officer OhioHealth Group Dr. Cardamone is the clinical executive leader for OhioHealth Group (OHG). The OhioHealth Group (OHG) is the physician/provider organization that is a joint partnership between OhioHealth and The Medical Group of Ohio that focuses on improving quality and managing costs of care. They do this by providing information on individual and population care needs with physicians and other providers to engage patients to practice better health behaviors and seek the care they need when they need it, in the right (or appropriate) setting (or place) and from the right (or appropriate) professional. Dr. Cardamone is a member of the executive leadership team responsible for the development of OHG’s strategic goals, translating them into core business initiatives to advance Health4 as the preeminent regional clinicallyintegrated value-delivery network. Dr. Cardamone works closely with the leaders, physicians and staffs of OHG and its parent organizations, OhioHealth and The Medical Group of Ohio to identify and implement actions to achieve strategic goals, especially the goal of regional healthcare value leadership. Dr. Cardamone comes to OHG from Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, where he most recently served as the Senior Vice President/System Chief Medical Officer. While there he was responsible for system wide leadership of the clinical excellence strategy, quality and patient safety, clinical informatics/electronic health record, clinical integration, clinical research and care management. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his post-graduate training in Family Medicine at the University of Iowa/Northeast Iowa in Waterloo, Iowa. He also received his Master of Science degree in Preventative Medicine-Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Cardamone is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Cardamone is a U.S. Navy veteran where he served as Senior Medical Officer and was twice awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for meritorious service.
