Explain the immediate and long-term causes of the American Revolution and their impact on Georgia; include the French and Indian War (Seven Years War), Proclamation of 1763, Stamp Act, Intolerable Acts, and the Declaration of Independence. b. Analyze the significance of people and events in Georgia on the RevolutionaryWar; include Loyalists, patriots, Elijah Clarke, Austin Dabney, Nancy Hart, Button Gwinnett, Lyman Hall, George Walton, Battle of Kettle Creek, and siege of Savannah. Thursday-Friday SS8H4 The Student will describe the impact of events that led to the ratification of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. a) Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of both the GA constitution of 1777 and the Articles of Confederation and explain how the weaknesses in the Articles led to a need for revision. b) Describe the role of GA at the Constitutional Convention of 1787 including the role of Abraham Baldwin and William Few, and reasons why GA ratified the new constitution. Balloon review- 1 student blows up the balloon gradually while others throughout the class stand on their desks 1 at a time explaining the grievances of the colonies. Finally the balloon pops. 2. Break students into groups and give each group a copy of the Articles of Confederation. Have each group list the positives and negatives of the Articles. Have them highlight the positives in yellow and underline the negatives in red. Then have them list them in double bubble. 1.
