Dear Parents,
As you are well aware, the new year brings thoughts of the Connecticut Mastery
Test that will be administered the first week of March. To this end, I am pleased
to inform you that Scofield will be offering an after school program for students in
grades 6 and 7 in the area of reading. A review of basic literacy components will
be stressed, such as main idea, author’s purpose, making connections, etc. The
goal is to strengthen and refine skills necessary for comprehension and, in turn,
boost confidence.
The program will be offered during the time frame below:
Grade 6 – Monday, the week of January 18, 2010 – February 26, 2010 from 3:00
p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Grade 7 – Thursday, the week of January 18, 2010 – February 26, 2010 from 3:00
p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
A light snack will be provided, as well as late buses.
Students will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. If you are interested in
enrolling you child, please complete the form below and return it to your child’s
advisory teacher before January 18, 2010.
