During the nearest 10 days an unsteady weather over the Baltic Sea region will
remain. The periods of moderate frost alternating with thaws, brought with mild southwest Atlantic winds. Significant ice formation is not expected in the Latvian marine
waters within the period.
The intensive ice formation will continue mostly in the Gulf’s north part, as in its
harbours and the coastal areas.
On the main fairways the belts of drift new ice 5 cm thick could be expected.
