Procedures/Steps:
This Reading comprehension strategy is a self-questioning strategy designed to help
students be more independent and efficient readers.
First
• First sentence in the paragraph is read
Indicate
• Indicate a question based on information in the first sentence
Search
• Search for the answer to the question Tie
• Tie the answer to the question with a paraphrase

Comments and/or tips:
This strategy is especially helpful to use when reading informational texts.
