The feast of Pentecost last Sunday points us in the direction of community building. We have a great heritage of active involvement on the part of parishioners in all areas of parish ministries. We need more people to be interested serving on Pastoral Council, Baptismal Team, etc. Pastoral Council is a very important and vital structure so that the pastor receives input and advice to read the collective pulse of the community. I would like to see more people who would be keen on being there to serve the community this way. We also need another volunteer to assist in the ministry of Baptismal Preparation. Please contact me if you are able to help with this important ministry. 2. In conjunction with the Scout leaders who will facilitate activities with parish volunteers, we plan to have a parish barbecue on Sunday, June 22, at noon, following the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Please attend and if possible, lend a hand to make this into a fun parish event. 3. We celebrate the Eucharist in thanksgiving for the great deeds of God.
