University of Cambridge Research Associate Institute of Metabolic Science – Metabolic Research Laboratories Vacancy Ref: RG00597 Salary: £27,578 to £35,938 Limit of tenure applies* Post-translational modification of a mammalian chaperone – 6 month project We are seeking a PhD level scientist with experience in protein chemistry and protein purification to complete an on-going line of research aimed at identifying posttranslational modifications of a mammalian chaperone. Your task will be to purify the protein of interest from recombinant and endogenous sources and develop digestion and separation methods geared towards identifying post-translational modifcations. Proven skills in recombinant DNA technology, protein expression in bacteria and chromatographic separation of proteins are a must. Experience in mass spectrometry and in working with membranes is a significant advantage as is a publication record in these areas.
