Sihl have expanded the roll-up and pop-up assortment with two new media specifically developed for UV inks: Sihl DuraCURE Roll-up 125 and Sihl DuraCURE Pop-up 380. Another highlight is the new Sihl LightCURE Backlit Film 140 DS, for lightbox displays. All three medias stand out from similar products thanks to their excellent quality, outstanding cost : performance ratios and the fact that they are more eco-friendly. Düren June 2013 – FESPA London will see Sihl present the addition to the roll-up / pop-up market with their new products Sihl DuraCURE Roll-up 125 (3415) and Sihl DuraCURE Pop-up 380 (3416). These new products have been especially developed for the use with UV inks, but can also be used with Solid Ink Systems and traditional printing presses, such as Offset. The amazing structure of these products guarantees cost efficiency without neglecting any application requirements for display or flexible displays systems. The new Sihl LightCURE Backlit Film 140 DS (3418) has an amazing double-sided matt coating which allows better colour and contrast, as well as printing on both sides of the film. Sihl DuraCURE – strong to core With the new DuraCURE media less is definitely more! For the production of this media Sihl use as little film as necessary and as much paper as possible. Two new products emerged which are not only eco-friendly but also achieve excellent print results with high stiffness and tear resistance. Both the roll-up and the pop-up take top positions in terms of cost efficiency and handling, optimising these latest members of the DuraCURE series for the demands of todays market. The Sihl DuraCURE Roll-up 125 (3415) has a blockout which gives this 150 gsm thick media a much higher opacity. With a weight of 125gsm this paper film offers easy handling and further processing without it becoming too stiff or too thin. This allows optimal stiffness and breaking strengths needed for display application. Available in 914mm & 1067mm (length 61m) it is dimensionally stable thanks to the film core and the matt surface finish allows excellent ink bonding. In spite of all this thanks to using the film sparingly during production and using an FSC certified raw material as base, the Sihl DuraCURE Roll-up 125 (3415) got graded as environmentally friendly. The similar constructed and equally environmentally friendly Sihl DuraCURE Pop-up 380 (3416) –weight 385 gsm– offers the user a high tear resistance and stiffness, at the same time being effective and economical in processing. This product is also available in the typical 914mm & 1067mm width with a length of 30.5m. The considerably stiffer, thicker material is amazing for flexible display systems. Regardless of UV inks, Solid Ink systems or Offset print perfect ink adherence, brilliant colour intensity high contrast and precise definition is guaranteed. The DuraCURE Pop-up 125 (3416) is also compatible with IR-Latex inks. Especially superb print results can be expected when UV printers’ swissQprint Oryx and swissQprint Impala are used (both available via Sihl Direct Düren). An unbeatable eye-catcher Illuminating differently is how the new Sihl LightCURE Backlit Film 140 DS (3418), which can be printed on both sides, stands out from other backlits. Displays and adverts illuminated, in any manner from behind, have an unbeatable visual effect on people passing by. Light presents bright colours attract more attention. The higher the print quality, the more intense the effect the backlit has. The new Sihl LightCURE Backlit Film 140 DS (3418) is based on a polyester film, with matt coating on both sides, and thanks to the symmetrical composition of the coating printing is possible on both sides of this media, which means that the mirror image printed on the reverse will produce a high quality contrast image and allows application with both retracted or reflected light: With prints significantly excelling prints on similar products. Another advantage of the double-sided matt finish is that it gives a better and homogenous path for the light rays. The scratch proof surface secures problem-free handling, as well as brilliant durability for long-term indoor or outdoor application. All of these characteristics make this product ideal for lightboxes: an unbelievably excellent flatness allows a sure and uncomplicated mounting. Thanks to its special surface finish this film is perfect for UV inks, but can also be printed using Laser, Solid-Ink (Colorwave 600/650) systems or on traditional Offset presses.
