Ms. Cory Wilkerson
SUMMARY OF SERVICES
Ms. Wilkerson has over twenty years of experience in Arts Education as both an Educator and Consultant
in Arts Assessment and Arts Infused curriculum; including ten years as a trainer in standards based
instruction and assessment techniques for the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Ms. Wilkerson has
worked with several major grant initiatives in Teacher Professional Development throughout Western
Pennsylvania. In her free time Ms. Wilkerson keeps her Theatre Arts skills fresh teaching and directing for
theatres in the Central Pennsylvania area.
CONSULTING AND WORK EXPERIENCE
States Education Agency for Directors of Arts Education
Project Manager (Part Time) 2009- ongoing Schedule and document the work of this cyber based national
organization, coordinate online professional development webinars, provide technical support for online meetings,
maintain calendar of activities and events, update and oversee website, coordinate project processes as required.
Arts Educator 2.0 Facilitator 2009- 2011 Facilitate professional development for arts educators as a part a three
year project funded by the United States Department of Education and created jointly with the PA Department of
Education and IU1 in Coal Center, PA. Design work flow, supervise teachers enrolled and support research work
involved.
Neighborhood Bridges Early Critical Literacy Program - Fulton Opera House - Lancaster, PA
Assessment Design/Teaching Artist 2009-current Design and administer assessment for this pre-school arts
integrated program funded by PNC’s Grow Up Great initiative. Design classroom activities following the
Neighborhood Bridges curriculum for day care and Head Start groups in Lancaster area pre-schools using drama to
teach critical thinking and pre-reading skills.
Building Bridges through Arts Smarts - IU 8 Johnstown, PA
Administrative Staff 2006-2009 Assisted in planning and delivering intensive summer professional development
programs for general education teachers working with arts infused curriculum. Conducted site visits at identified
schools. Worked with staff and teachers long distance using internet tools to connect, mentor and monitor program
progress.
Kids Drama Factory - Atlanta, GA
Curriculum Planner/Staff 2006 – 2009 Responsible for designing and writing curriculum for staff of 4 teachers.
Created standards based theatre arts curriculum and performance assessment tools for use in an after school
theatre arts program in Atlanta Public Schools.
Infinity Gifted Charter School, Harrisburg, PA
Theatre Teacher 2004 – 2006 Responsible for creating theatre arts curriculum and assessment based on school
themes. Taught general theatre arts classes for all children K-8, intensive classes grades 6-8.
Lincoln Elementary School Life Esteem Program, Harrisburg Area School District, Harrisburg, PA
Embedded Teaching Artist 2003 - 2004 Team taught Health classes with the physical education teacher as a
embedded teaching artist. Responsible for creating integrated theatre arts and health curriculum to teach life skills
and healthy choices for at risk students in grades four through seven.

Substitute Teacher Roster 2003 - 2005 Substitute teacher on call for Lebanon City Schools grades K-5.
Palmyra Area School District, Palmyra, PA
Drama Coach 1998 – 2006 Created and maintained an active program from the ground up, supervised staff,
created and managed the production budget, fund raised, designed scenery, costume plots and teaching tools.
Inventoried, maintained and managed stage and building resources for drama at the Middle School level. Linked
after school program to standards based instruction in theatre arts.

Resident Artist 2003- 2005 Responsible for overseeing a team of teachers participating in this three year arts
infusion project funded by the National Endowment for the Arts for the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania tristate area. Maintained contact with the team using web based tools including forums, email and web sites.
Mentored teachers long distance for arts inclusion and assessment. Presented workshops at annual conferences.
Assessed participant work. Authored and published distance learning tools using LCMS.
Pennsylvania Department of Education Governor’s Institute for Arts Educators, Harrisburg, PA
Administrative Staff & Trainer 1999 – 2007 Assisted in creating professional development for arts teachers
statewide as both faculty and then administration. Responsibilities included negotiating with outside vendors,
creating the master schedule, identifying and coordinating guest artists, conducting statewide meetings using
teleconferencing and web based tools and trouble shooting as point of contact with the technical support people
during the week long training sessions. In addition served as Faculty/Trainer with responsibilities that included
creating and designing arts education training materials, conducting training seminars in arts curriculum and arts
assessment, training and mentoring new staff members. Developed performance assessment tools to evaluate
trainees.

of 30-80 performers (amateur and professional) while scheduling and managing resources and facility use to meet
production goals. Create and teach sessions in Acting, Acting for the Camera, Improvisation, and Forum Theatre
and Creative Dramatics. Conduct arts in education programs using storytelling and image theatre techniques.
Work as youth theatre specialist for theatres including Theatre Harrisburg, Open Stage, Hershey Area Playhouse,
Encore Players, Kids Drama Factory, Fulton Opera House and Curtain Call Youth Players.
