Purpose of the role:
To work as part of the Corporate & Industry Communications team to deliver an integrated
programme of corporate communications that showcases Tourism Ireland’s marketing excellence
and innovation to stakeholders across the island of Ireland (including tourism industry partners,
Governmental stakeholders, media and others) and to enhance understanding of Tourism Ireland’s
unique contribution to tourism and to the island’s economies.
This job will, from time to time, involve unsocial hours and some travel on the island of Ireland.

The Duties – Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1.To identify marketing stories and materials and upload them daily to Tourismireland.com to
ensure that all sections of the site, particularly Marketing Highlights, Research etc, always showcase
the latest and most impactful examples of Tourism Ireland’s marketing innovation and excellence.
2. To plan and implement a programme of regular ezines that highlights all aspects of our marketing
activity, engages stakeholder interest across the island of Ireland, alerts recipients to ‘new news’ on
Tourismireland.com and that drives traffic to the corporate site.
3. To write copy for a range of corporate communications including the corporate website,
ezines, press releases, social media, briefings, speech material, articles etc.
4. To prepare a series of professional presentations, tailored to particular stakeholder audiences
across the island, that tell the Tourism Ireland story, are illustrated with high-quality imagery,
graphics and video clips and which bring to life our world-class marketing innovation.
5. To organise a series of face-to-face events, involving industry partners and wider stakeholders
that reflect the professionalism, innovation and standing of the organisation. These include the
annual Marketing Plans events and other launches, as well as a range of smaller industry meetings
and consultation forums.
6. To ensure that all content is continually updated on Tourismireland.com to reflect additional
information such as campaign results; to ensure that uploads of press releases, campaign and other

marketing materials including video, advertising clips etc, are timed to go ‘live’ on the site at the
same time as they are being launched/released elsewhere.
7. To manage Tourismireland.com, liaising with site developers and maintenance teams; monitor
and report monthly on traffic to the site and recommend ways to improve performance and usage;
to report fortnightly on ezine performance, manage feedback from recipients, and recommend ways
to make the programme more effective.
8. To cooperate with and support colleagues in the C&IC team in Dublin and Coleraine as required
ensuring the team delivers on its objectives.
9. Such other duties as the company may from time-to-time reasonably require.

The Person
The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and competencies.
Essential
IT skills including experience in working with content management systems such as Kentico,
software programmes including Photoshop, Adobe, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Outlook,
Newsweaver.
Proven experience of writing for corporate communications (web, press releases, social
media, speech material, briefings etc).
Experience in producing high-quality presentations.
Experience in organising high-profile events.
Analytical skills and familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics.
Experience in managing websites day-to-day and overseeing web maintenance.
Proven organisational and administrative skills.
Proven team player.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Desirable
Third level qualification in business, marketing or any other relevant discipline.
Recent corporate communications or PR experience.
Experience of working with software packages including Keynote,ezines templates such as
Newsweaver, Paint etc.
Knowledge of the island of Ireland and its tourism attractions and experiences.
