This is translated into our school leadership programme that offers the opportunity for aspiring middle leaders to shadow and work alongside leadership colleagues to develop an understanding of the expectations, functions and accountability that are associated with school leadership when developing family and community engagement. Opportunities for development include: Understanding the benefits of working with families and the role of school leaders Data analysis, e-FSM pupils vs n-FSM pupils & Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation Role of Family Support Officers Early Intervention strategies when engaging families Understanding the benefits of providing courses for adult and family learning through Springboard Working in partnership with a range of external agencies The benefits of running the FAST (Families and Schools Together) programme Providing learning opportunities for community members in the school to gain qualifications and employment prospects Self Evaluation and Development Planning Colleagues will access the opportunities to shadow and work alongside current school leaders to understand the importance of family and community engagement and the benefits it brings to pupils, in particular disadvantaged learners.
