Read-A-Thon Schedule of Events 2015
September 22nd – Kickoff Day and Reading Begins!!
We will be having an assembly in the afternoon sponsored by Second
and Seven Foundation. Read-A-Thon packets will be sent home on this
day and reading will begin. Please encourage all students to participate
as we would like to see another increase this year in our student
participation numbers!! Remind them to bring their reading logs to
school each day in their orange communication folders. For every
student who returns their reading log during the week will receive a
ticket into the weekly book raffle!
September 22nd – October 23rd – Reading Weeks!!
We will be tallying minutes throughout the weeks on the read-a-thon
bulletin board.
Spirit Month-September 28th-Oct. 23rd
Monday’s- Wear mixed up clothes today! (Backwards, inside out,
mismatched, etc)
Tuesday’s- Wear your favorite hat today!
Wednesday’s- Wear your wackiest socks today!
Thursday’s- Wear your pajamas to school today!
Friday’s- Dress like Thing 1 and Thing 2 in your favorite Pacer gear
today!
September 22nd – October 23rd – Collect Money and tally up Reading
Logs
October 26th – October 27th – Turn in Money and Reading Logs to
Teachers
Please remind students to turn in their money and logs by October 27th
to be eligible for prizes.
October 29th – Celebration Day
- We will have an announcement to congratulate the students.
- All raffle prizes will be distributed during the afternoon assembly
- The winner of the pizza party for the class who has the most overall
minutes read during the read-a-thon will be announced.
-The winner of the pizza and ice cream party for the class who has the
most pledges during the read-a-thon will be announced.
-The classroom door decorating winner will be announced and a time
will be determined to receive their cookies and juice.
-All classrooms with 100% participation will receive a popcorn party.
Those classrooms will be announced during the assembly
Thank you very much for all your cooperation and assistance
during the read a thon. With this type of fundraiser, we need and
appreciate all your help and encouragement to the students. Please
continue to encourage them to read and record on the read a thon forms
each night and return to school every day in their communication folder.
Maybe a little reminder in their agenda would help too!! A little friendly
competition between classes can go a long way!! We would love to hear
your input at any time to help improve the process. Thanks again so
much for your support!!
