Chair’s Blog November 2014
Hi just an update on POGP following our very successful launch and Conference in September which
had very positive feedback. If you were not at conference please have a look at some of the
presentations which have been uploaded on to our web-site.
The executive recently met for a two day meeting during which we undertook a review of our relaunch and developed a strategic plan for 2015 and beyond. This was facilitated by Fitwise and was
also attended by our new president Karen Nugent. Such a plan is essential to remain pro-active and
moving forwards. Our aims include developing more workshops, working with other HCP groups,
and looking at ways we can support members and patients better. A short on line Newsletter will
soon be delivered to you by email so keep a watch out for that.
We are also continuing to work with agencies such as NICE and will be reviewing the UI Standard in
January.
November is a busy month for our popular short courses with the POP one day course being held on
the 8th November in Glasgow and the ‘Physiotherapy assessment of management of female urinary
dysfunction’ 28-30th Nov in Hampshire (now fully booked). In addition we are facilitating an
independent course of Ramona Horton’s - ‘Mobilisation of visceral fascia for the treatment of pelvic
dysfunction: the urinary system’ - on the 14-16th Nov 2014, Cambridge. Also please note that the
Physiotherapy assessment and Management of pregnancy related MSK conditions’ is being held on
the 6-8th Feb 2015 London – we expect it will also be over sub-scribed so make sure you book early.
Remember about the Dame Josephine Bursary – Applications close 1st Jan 2015
Conference 2015 will be held on the 25th and 26th September 2015 in Harrogate
For further information on all our short courses, bursaries etc. please see the POGP web-site
With best wishes
