COMPETITION CONDITIONS
Marshall Leisure North East District Seniors Championship
Craibstone Golf Club Friday 24th July 2015.
1. Conditions of Play
a)
The Committee of the North East District Association of the SGU will be responsible
for the organisation of the Championship. Its decisions in all matters pertaining to the
Championship will be final.
b) The Championship will be governed by the rules of golf as approved by R&A Rules
Ltd and the local rules as approved by the committee.
c) The Championship will be played over 18 holes of stroke play.
d) The winner, who shall hold the trophy for one year, shall be the competitor who
returns the lowest score for 18 holes. In the event of any ties over 18 holes the winner
and other places will be decided by count back.
e) All players must return their scorecards and failure to do so will result in an
automatic ban from District events for two years.
f) Distance Measuring Devices will be allowed during this Championship.
2. Qualifications
To be eligible a player must be:
a) Male at birth and of amateur status as defined by R&A Rules Ltd.
b) A member of a recognised Golf Club affiliated to the North East District.
c) Over the age of 55 years on the day of the competition
d) In possession of a handicap under the CONGU Unified Handicapping System on the
date his entry form is certified by the secretary of his home Club.
3. Entry
a)
A player must enter from his Home Club. His entry must be on the official entry
form and be certified by the Secretary of his Home Club and accompanied by the
entry fee of £10.
b) The North East District Association reserves the right to restrict the number of entries
accepted and to refuse any entry without explanation. In the event of entries being
received in excess of the maximum, players with lower handicaps will receive
preference. Unsuccessful entries will be placed on a waiting list and may be invited
to compete if withdrawals occur.
c) Entry fees will NOT be refunded, if withdrawal is after the closing date.
d) Closing date for entries is Monday 13th July 2015.
4. Prizes
Scratch - £120, £90, £70, £50.
Handicap – 2 sections - £100, £80, £60, £40
