Words need to be spelled exactly as they are listed (eg proper nouns must start
with a capital letter)
Your child will be eliminated if s/he spells a word incorrectly;
^Some words may have alternative pronunciations (eg ^research –
reSEARCH/ REsearch) and your child needs to be aware of these, know
their meaning/s and be able to use them in sentences;
* Some list words are pronounced the same as another word, but have different
spelling and meaning (eg *council / counsel); your child needs to be
aware of these, know their meanings and be able to use them in sentences.
