Code of Conduct for Young Players (U/18)
Do not rumble the thunder!
Treat team-mates, coaches, umpires and opponents with respect.
Have fun, reach for the top and always try your best.
Umpires are there to interpret the rules for you, accept their decisions.
Never use bad language or insult opponents, coaches or spectators.
Do not try to gain an unfair advantage over opponents.
Enjoy yourself; know the rules of netball and play by the spirit of the rules.
Realise that without your opponents; there wouldn’t be a game.
Remember:
Subs
Always pay your subs before you play
Kit
Always wear the right kit for playing
No jewellery - no long nails – no sharp things hair - no hats
Hair tied back out of eyes while training and games
Behaviour
Listen to your coaches and helpers while in their presence
No silly behaviour while training
No physical aggression or name calling or making people feel left out - we are a team.
Respect your team mates and managers/ coaches and other teams - whether you win or
lose
Shake hands when ending a match
Safety
 Never walk off with a stranger
 Never leave games or training without telling the coach who you are with
 A stranger is someone you do not know. You must never go anywhere with
anyone you don’t know. You must always ask your parents/guardian
 Always tell the coach or parent if someone physically or emotionally hurts you,
bully you or upset you or other people. Do not keep it to your self tell someone
you trust. You must tell someone as soon as possible if you are any of above. If
someone does not believe you, you must tell another adult.
.
You should know your address and telephone number, and know how to make a
reversed charge telephone call should you need picking up or are in any sort of
trouble. If you got a mobile make sure it is on - in case of emergency or ask coach.
 If your parents/guardian sends someone to pick you up from training or matches,
they should let all coaches know before hand.
 It is always OK to say NO to someone, even a grown-up, who is trying to make
you feel uncomfortable.
 Remember keeping safe is the most important thing.
