Tool Number 24: Translator
INTRODUCTION
The Translator
icon will let you select English
words in text and show you the French versions of those
words. These words can then be read aloud so that you
can fully understand them.
When you are reading words and sentences in English
sometimes it may be helpful to see some of the words in
French.
How to use the Translator
icon
Click the Translator
icon and double click on a
word to get it translated (changed) to French. The
French words can be read aloud by clicking on them.

If you are reading you can translate words to French.
To translate a word you click the Translator
Then double click on the word.

The word will then be translated into French.
The French words can be read aloud by clicking on them.
To close the Translator simply click on the close
button

Translating Words
1. Open the story France on your computer. If you need
help with this, ask your teacher.
2. Press the Translator
icon. Double click on a
word and it will appear in the Translator Window.

3. A list showing the English word translated to French
will be shown. Any word can be read aloud by clicking
on it.

4. A new word can be selected by double clicking on it and
the list will change to show the new word translated
into French.
5. The Translator window can be closed by clicking on the
close

2. Go through the story and translate some of the
words into French
3. Have some of the French words read aloud.
4. Close the Translator tool.
