Work Zone Safety
1. Encroachments are increasing day to day on both sides of road especially near Km 99+000 to 100+000
(RHS) by dumping scrap by scrap traders, tea stalls, huts, etc. IE had repeatedly requested the
concessionaire for removal of encroachments but no action is being taken by concessionaire.
2. Entry provided by petrol pump retailer is illegal and level of this entry is higher than the finish level of road
between Km 97.000 to 99.000 (RHS) and it also is without drainage (sides)arrangements
3. Construction works are in progress for some buildings (Residential or commercial), are to be checked with
reference to Ribon Development Rules, particularly between ch 44.000 to 45.00(LHS) and at Ch 97.450
(LHS).
4. Earthen drains near ROW of road are not provided / constructed for easy and smooth discharge of storm
water in this monsoon particularly between Sachin to Magadalla section of highway.
5. We observed that the existing surface of main carriage way or service road is either damaged and potholes
developed during the monsoon at following locations/stretches, it requires repairing at earliest before further
deterioration of road surface.
(a) Road surface of service road near Fly over Bridge of Nizar between 1.100 to 1.600-RHS.
(b) Diversions on both sides of road near R O B Gandhinagar at Ch 3.917.
(c) Diversions on both sides of road near Minor Bridge at Ch 4.274.
(d) Road surface under VUP at Ch 18.612 near Songadh
(e) Diversions on both sides of road near R O B at Ch 19.750
(f) Pot holes developed between Ch 21.000 to 23.000.
(g) Main carriage way between Ch 43.350 to 44.000 (RHS) near end of Vyara Bypass Junction.
(h) Settlement of MCW on both approaches of VUP at Ch 49.786 (BHS), Ch 50.476 (BHS) and Ch 51.175
(BHS) in Bajipura Bypass.
(i) Settlement of MCW on Vayar side approaches of major bridge at Ch 51.650 (BHS) in Bajipura Bypass.
(j) Settlement on approach road (Vyara side) at Ch 51.173 to Major Bridge at Ch 51.642 on Bajipura Bypass.
(k) Settlement on MCW at Ch 51.140 to 51.190 on Bajipura Bypass
(l) Service road on both sides of Flyover Bridge at Ch 53.333 (Sumul Dairy)
(m) Main carriageway between Ch 62.00 to 63.00 (LHS) near Chick Khadi.
(n) Service road on both sides of Flyover Bridge at Ch 67.338 (Valod Junction)
(o) Service road on both sides of Flyover Bridge at Ch 69.056 (Bardoli Junction)
(p) Main carriage way between Ch 74.000 to 76.000 near village Dhamadod.
(q) Settlement on MCW on ENA bypass between Ch 75.500 to 77.000.
(r) Service road near Palsana VUP, between Ch 83.000 to 83.500 (RHS) & 82.500 to 83.000 (LHS)
(s) Service road on both sides of Flyover Bridge between Ch 92.000 to 94.000 near Sachin.
(t) Pot holes developed in main carriageway between km 116+000 to Km 119+000
6. Approaches provided from all the Hotels and restaurants constructed to main carriageway on road side are
unauthorized and are not having cross drainage arrangement along the road for discharge of storm water.
7. Bumps provided on main carriage way near R T O Songadh, is against the norms of IRC-99-1980.
8. Guard rails damaged at many locations are to be repaired.
9. Cleaning of Kerb, concrete crash barriers etc are to be carried out by removing the grass, dust, garbage
etc.
10. Plants like Babul and other unwanted vegetations at median and side shoulders are to be removed for
providing the visibility to road users for MBCB, Kilometre stones, kerb, sign boards etc.
11. Wall constructed near approach road to Petrol Pump within land of NH-6 are to be removed.
12. Covered drain, service road, street light etc are to be provided near junction of NH-8 &NH-6.
13. Median plantation is to be maintained properly.
Kilometre stone are fixed behind the MBCB are not visible to road users.
