The Jyväskylä Winter School of Ecology The 9th Jyväskylä Winter School of Ecology 15th – 26th of February 2016, University of Jyväskylä Finland Deadline for applications is 31st of December 2015! The Jyväskylä Winter School of Ecology is organized 15th – 26th of February 2016 for the ninth time, consisting of the following courses and one workshop: Boreal Winter Ecology (15.–19.2.2016) Methods in Community Ecology (21.–24.2.2016) Workshop: Megadiverse communities - from patterns to explanations (24.– 26.2.2016) The courses give students the opportunity to receive instruction by acknowledged researchers in the field, and get valuable field work experience in an international atmosphere. The language of instruction in all the courses is English. The courses are intensive one week courses at the advanced level. All international and Finnish students who are majoring in biology, especially those with emphasis on ecology, evolution, aquatic ecology, limnology, hydrobiology or environmental science, are encouraged to apply. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the high quality teaching of the School by internationally recognized researchers, and enjoy the opportunity to get hands on experience in winter ecology field methods. The courses are free of charge. The Jyväskylä Winter School is organized by the Department of Biological and Environmental Science and the Faculty of Mathematics and Science of the University of Jyväskylä. The Winter School takes place at Konnevesi Research Station (University of Jyväskylä) in Finland. Konnevesi Research Station is located ca. 70 km north of the city of Jyväskylä and about 40 km from Jyväskylä airport.
