Once again, in our continued effort to minimize the number of announcements needed at dress rehearsals and shows, we will be mailing all of our current dancers a
2014 Summer Dance Two Week Intensive brochure & a
2014-2015 Registration Packet in April. Please be sure to
read them thoroughly! Summer Dance brochures &
2014/2015 Registration Packets will also be available for pick up in the studio lobby and theatre lobby during the recital weeks. If you know of anyone who is interested in dancing with us, please have them stop by or give us a call so we can place them on our mailing list - thanks!
Costumes will be handed out as soon as they arrive – which in many cases is months prior to the recitals! So please,
PLEASE remember to…Have your dancer try on his/her costume for a parent to double check fitting… Let us know of any problems with sizing ASAP so we have time to do alterations and/or exchanges…Keep costumes hung up in a safe, dry place away from dirty hands & playful pets…Put your name and/or initials in every costume piece, every accessory & all shoes…And wait until closer to the recital dates for any alterations! Please refer to the costume posters hanging in the lobby and your show insert to find the correct accessories needed for each of your classes!
Tights, shoes, etc… All boys in both recitals will be told and/or provided everything that they need for the shows!
Please be sure to ask any questions you may have - the
sooner the better! If you are a sewing mom (or dad, or grandma…) and have time to spare, please leave your name at the front desk – we always need help with alterations!
Listed below are the classes that have combined dances for our “Aladdin” performances. In order to allow the dancers plenty of practice time with each other, we are asking that you attend BOTH classes as much as possible during
March & April:
Thursday 330pm & Saturday 1130am Ballet - Miss Jayme
Thursday 430pm & Saturday 1230pm Tap - Miss Jayme
Wednesday 6pm & Saturday 115pm Jazz - Miss Ashley
Please call us as soon as possible with any questions or concerns. (And don’t worry! There will be no extra charge for these classes.) We appreciate your extra time!!
Little Miss & Mister Boulder City Pageant
Dance Etc. will once again be sponsoring the
“Little Miss & Mister Boulder City” pageant. The pageant will be held at the Spring Jamboree on Saturday, May 4 th .
It is open to all Boulder City residents ages 3-5 years.
Please join us for this fun event! Entry forms are available at the front desk or at the BC Chamber of Commerce.
Performers for the Pageant…
It has become our tradition to have our littlest dancers perform during the “Little Miss & Mr Boulder City” pageant. This gives us time to tally the scores from the judges. However, if your dancer is participating in the pageant, he/she will not be able to dance. We wish there was some way to do both, but it just doesn’t work with costumes, etc. Thanks for your understanding!
Attendance is very important this time of year. Missing 3 classes in a row is unacceptable, and against our studio
policies. Missing class means not learning choreography, and is disruptive to other students and to your instructor.
Please call if you’re unable to attend class. And remember, if a dancer misses 3 classes in a row, it is the teacher’s discretion to remove them from choreography!
Dancer Pick-Up & Drop-Off…
We do not allow our younger dancers to leave the studio without a parent. It’s cold and dark outside when many of you are picking up your dancers after class! Please come inside to pick up your dancer. If your dancer needs to meet you outside, feel free to give us a call & one of our desk girls will walk them outside. Also, please remember that no dance shoes should be worn outside!
All dancers (except Mini Intensive & Musical Theater) performing in “Aladdin and the Legend of the Lamp” will be done dancing after the April 25 th & 26 th performances.
We hope to see everyone in our Summer Dance Two Week
Intensive Dance Program during July – this is a great opportunity to expose your dancer to new disciplines and keep their skills up for the fall season! Please look for your brochure in the mail at the beginning of April.
If you are on our Equal Payment Plan we will apply a credit for May to your final payment.
Thank you!
It’s almost show time! Please thoroughly read all of the inserts provided about rehearsals so you can understand all of the studio policies, and thank you in advance for not asking to be an exception to any of them. Please call the studio if you have any questions or concerns, we are always here to help. Classes performing in “Aladdin” will be done after the performances. The only exceptions to this are our Mini
Intensive dancers and our Musical Theater class.
Registration will begin April 1 st , 2014 for our next dance season. Please fill out a pink class request form for your dancer(s). We will mail out class assignments as soon as the schedule for next season is set. Please understand that we make our schedules due to the demand of requests for certain classes and teacher availability. If there is not a strong demand for the class/or scheduled class time by August, the class may be reassigned to another day and time or canceled. Please take all your activities, school, and hobbies into consideration when committing to our dance season.
