AMLWCH TOWN COUNCIL MINUTES – TUESDAY DECEMBER 16th 2014

2]. The previous minutes were accepted
3]. Matters arising:
North Wales Police: Response from the Police following our concerns in relation to the
Policing at Amlwch. Arrangement are in place to meet with the Chief Inspector in January,
Council felt that it would be better to meet during the January Council.
C.A.B: Following a report that they were having problems with the Internet, the clerk arranged
for the matter to be investigated, however informed that the matter had been dealt with.
3 (5): to be recorded as follows:
Persons claiming that they are exempt from paying the enhanced fee for burial plot may be
required to provide proof that the deceased to be buried had lived in Amlwch for not less than
15 years by way of a sworn statutory declaration.
4]. Precept:
The Finance Committee recommend increasing the precept by 3% (see attached a copy of the
estimates) a payment of £58.51 for a Band ‘D’ property.
The Council agreed unanimously to accept the Finance Committee’s recommendation

6]. External Meetings:
[a]. One Voice Wales: Cnllr G. Jones gave a report following the recent meeting. There was
some concern that out of the 39 Councils, only 12 Councils were represented. It is
understood that there will be a consultation on the budget during January.
7]. Town Cemetery:
1.
Concern that soil is being left on site after the grave diggers – the clerk to send a letter to all
undertakers to remind them of the rules that all the unwanted soil is to be removed from
site. The clerk was also asked to forward a copy of the rules and regulations along with the
revised costs which will be operational from 1st January 2015.

Some burials are being carried out without sending the paper work to the clerk – the clerk
to remind all undertakers that the paper work must be handed in prior to any funeral.
Cnllr R. O. Jones expressed his sincere thanks to the Council for the high standard of work in
keeping the cemetery so tidy.
8]. Gorwel Estate: Cnllr Meg Roberts is very unhappy with the situation. Cnllr R. O. Jones advised that
an enforcement order had been made, however the owners have the right to have a caravan on
site whilst the improvements are in progress. Council are eager to see the enforcement order.
9]. Shed/Garage: At rear of 71, Craig y Don Estate - the clerk advised that no response received
following our letter.
10]. C.C.T.V: Cnllr G.Winston Roberts gave a progress report in relation to the CCTV . The 5Towns are
unable to move ahead until a letter is received stating the conditions and date that the County
Council will cease to operate the system.
EXTRA MATTERS:
11]. Co-op parking area: complaints received in relation to the pot holes in the car park – the clerk to
send a letter to voice our concerns.
12]. Following a report in the local press in relation to the proposed alterations to the County Council
Offices, Cnllr Meg Roberts feels very concerned with the expenditure in view of the cut backs
we are facing. Cnllr G.Winston Roberts is of the opinion that there is a need to do away with
some buildings which would enable the present facilities to be up-graded. It is understood that a
consultation will be held during January.
