AMLWCH TOWN COUNCIL MINUTES – TUESDAY 22 nd July 2014.

PRESENT: Cnllrs: G.Winston Roberts O.B.E., G. Jones, M.W.Owens, M.F.Roberts, G. Warren,

H. Beck, M Sanders, V. Roberts, J. Pritchard

1]. Apologies: Cnllrs: W. Jones, E. Connolly, N. Ault, M. Roberts,

Cnllrs: A. Morris Jones & W. Hughes (County Cnllrs)

2]. The previous minutes were accepted

3]. Matters arising:

3 6(5) Kiosk/Toilets at Amlwch Port: The cable has now been removed. The clerk advised that

Mr. J. Beveridge has resigned due to other work commitments, there are two who have shown an interest, the clerk to arrange to employ immediately as an urgent measure, however the post will be advertised.

Shed/Garage at rear of Craig y Don: It was resolved that Councillor G.Winston Roberts visits Mr.

Daintree as Chairman of the Council and advise that he will have 28 days to respond.

4]. External Meetings:

Report from Cnllr R. O. Jones

[a]. Ponc yr Odyn: a request from the residents to erect street lighting in the estate, Town

Council are of the opinion that this is the County Council’s responsibility and that the

Town Council do not have funding available.

[b]. Cyprus Tree: Mr. Ed. Henderson asks the Town Council for their views regarding cutting down the tree in question. Town Council are happy for the tree to be cut, however feel that this is the County Council’s responsibility.

[c]. Maes Mona: Apparently a child has fallen from a tree. Cnllr Val Roberts advised that she has been in contact with Mr. Radcliffe and has confirmed that work is in the pipeline, a grant application has been made to cover the cost of new play equipment. Due to the fact there is no TPO on the trees, they can be cut down.

[d]. 28., Gorwel Estate Cnllr R. O. Jones advised that the enforcement officer is due to call on site.

[e]. Glan Rhos Garage: several complaints regarding various issues on this site.

7]. Town Cemetery: The application for funding from the Shell Trust has been refused. Cnllr R. O.

Jones advised that the Trust does not contribute to any cemetery

8]. Request for extra hours for both Alan and Andy Ganderton, Cnllr V. Roberts is making the request due to the increase in the work schedule, the parks & open spaces committee feel that there will be a short fall of £2,000.00. This year all the planting has been done by both Alan and

Andy Ganderton to a very high standard.

It was resolved to call an emergency meeting of the finance committee, full Council have given

Finance committee the power to act.

(Cnllr G.Winston Roberts did not take part in the discussion)

9]. CCTV Cnllr G.Winston Roberts gave a report following the meetings held recently with the other

Town Councils and the Police. All five towns have worked very hard to try and come to a way forward. G. Winston Roberts asked Cnllr R. Jones to discuss with the County Council for the possibility of a contribution from the County Council, the Town Council are hoping to get a contribution from the Shell Fund

10]. Brwynog Homes: One again, the County Council have announced their plans for the Brwynog

Nursing Home - apparently there is a very successful system working at Llanrwst which the

County Council are hoping to adopt, it is understood that several of the County Cnllrs have visited the site. Cnllr R. Jones advised that he has arranged that the staff of Brwynog to visit the site at Llanrwst. Town Council are very disappointed and concerned with this decision.

11]. Chair’s expenses – it was resolved to keep the same as previously
