The students are supposed to be able to say eight different family members in Mandarin. 2. The students are supposed to sing a Chinese song ”I love my family”. 3. The students are supposed to learn the second Chinese vowel in four tones “ōóǒò” Step 2—Assessment Evidence Performance task—What will students do to show what they have learned? 1. The students will tell the right Chinese word for a family member when they see the picture. 2. The students will sing the Chinese song when they see the family members in order. 3. The students will pronounce four tones of pin yin “o”. Step 3—Learning Plan Learning activities - Answer’s the question, how do I teach it? 1.Warm up:① Chinese “class begins” etiquette. 2.:Revision: ① Chinese pin yin “ āáǎà”. ②More difference between a Chinese school and an American school 3.Presentation: ① Show a picture of The Simpsons and ask the students to guess what we are going to learn today. ② Teach mummy, daddy, big bro, big sis “mā ma/bà ba/ gē ge/jiě jie” by flashcards and TPR. ③Sing the first part of the Chinese song “I love my family”. Wǒ ài … ④Go on teaching little bro, little sis, grandma, grandpa “dì di/mèi mei/nǎi nai/ yé ye”. ⑤ Sing the second half of the Chinese song. 4.
