The Branch The Regulatory Strategy and Design Branch leads the development and implementation of strategic regulatory frameworks. The branch has oversight of the regulatory frameworks for the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act, Wildlife Act, native vegetation management and environmental biosecurity. Accountabilities These outline the responsibilities and outcomes required of the role in priority order, and form the basis of an individual’s Performance Plan. Foster and lead a high performing, multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Melbourne Strategic Assessment and related sub-projects consistent with Departmental policies and processes. Lead engagement with key stakeholder groups including state and federal government departments, statutory bodies, local councils, the development industry and environmental groups. Represent the Department at key forums within DEPI, with other Departments and stakeholders. Manage project planning, including development of an implementation plan compliant with audit requirements and incorporating project reporting and risk management. Lead the negotiation and resolution of implementation issues with key stakeholders and project partners, and provide strategic advice on project issues to support the Department’s projects, programs and priorities. Manage the establishment of transparent and accountable processes for managing significant revenue, achieved through cost recovery, and expenditure compliant with Victorian government procurement processes. Support the project governance structure, which includes an internal Project Control Board, Inter-Departmental Committee and Commonwealth-State Liaison Group. Provide expert, authoritative and timely information and advice to stakeholders, including ministerial offices, departmental staff, other government departments, portfolio agencies and external organisations on issues related to the Melbourne Strategic Assessment.
